Pipe Couplings in Water Power Plants

The scarcity of resources, increasing energy demand and the decentralisation of power generation are in many places helping to rediscover the hydroelectric power. Enlarging and optimising of existing plants comes along with completely new developed installations. Thus, pipe couplings play a more and more important role as an easy and economically priced alternative to connect pipe ends. This article shows the potential and the limits for pipe couplings in water power plants. Based on some reference installations, the application area will be properly defined.
