The objective of this article is to demonstrate the efficiency improvements which are now possible both within and outside the heat treatment process itself and thermal processing plants by taking examples from the heat treatment industry and the plants used in this industry (bell-type annealing plants, rotary hearth, walking hearth, walking beam and pusher-type furnaces, gas carburizing plants and hardening plants).
