This paper provides an overview of the evaluation, manufacturing steps and challenges during the production of high strength induction bends made from heavy TMCP plates of grade X80 (L555M) and highlights more than 15 years experience and competences of Salzgitter Mannesmann Grobblech (MGB) GmbH in this field of application. During this period of time more than 2700 induction bends in material grade X80 were manufac-tured in the bending plant located in Mülheim, Germany.
