The spanish gas sector has invested about 11.4 billion euros in infrastructure over the last ten years, resulting in a total network size for the country up to 76,403 kilometres. The industry continues to be a driver of gas consumption in Spain, accounting for 55 % of total consumption, followed by the electricity-generation with 30 % and the domestic-commercial sector with 14 %. Spain's supply continues to be one of the most secure in Europe, with gas coming from 13 different countries.
