The influence on a tube bundle heat exchanger in cross flow of fluid with counter-flowing low-frequent asymmetric pulsations (LFAP) regarding the circumference of a control cylinder was investigated by means of numerical simulation. The Reynolds number (Re) inside the tube bundle ranged by Re = 100–900, the pulsation frequency f = 0.0166–0.5 Hz and the amplitude A = 0.0125–0.045 m. The influence of the frequency f and the amplitude A on the local intensity of the external heat transfer from the control cylinder inside the tube bundle was considered. Therefore, the temperature and velocity fields around the control cylinder were obtained numerically, and compared to the case of steady flow of the heat transfer media.
