DVGW-R&D Study
PDF Download
Adding biogas to the natural gas grid is clearly regulated in Germany and has become more transparent and thus simpler due to co-operation of all involved partners and specific DVGW-R&D projects. The constant development and the advancement are accompanied accordingly by the solution by detail questions, which result from the constant advancement. Due to optimized combination of upgrading and conditioning processes biogas can be matched by adding LPG and/or air to the gaseous fuel combustion characteristics of natural gas. As a part of the DVGW-Biogas R&D program this article is a summary of the study which deals with -principle conditioning of upgraded biogas by air and/or LPG to match the gross calorific value of natural gas distributed in Germany. Different L- and H-gases have been taken into account to provide schematized recommendations which nevertheless contain requirements given by law, technical rules, codes of practice and physical aspects.
