Aerospace Material Specification AMS2750D makes specific pyrometric demands on thermal processing equipment used in heat treatment. It extents to temperature sensors, instruments, system accuracy tests (SATs) for thermalprocess equipment, and to the verification of temperature uniformity (Temperature Uniformity Surveys, or "TUS"). Adherence to AMS2750D makes it possible to ensure that products and feed materials are heat treated in conformity to the applicable standards. The AMS2750D standard, to which reference is made in NADCAP and CQI 9, defines procedures for SAT and TUS verification for instrumentation, temperature sensors and thermal-processing equipment. This article examines the AMS2750D process and maintenance requirements, with particular attention to the differences vis-à-vis AMS2750C, and how adherence to these requirements can be verified.for industrial and municipal steam and heat generators for outputs of up to 55 t/h, or 38 MW/unit.
