After the first successful commissioning of an integrated process model for the inductive billet heating now another production line has been equipped with this technology in cooperation with Otto Junker. The improvement of the process stability for heating billets from ambient temperature because of the model and other optimizations was proven for the line at Constellium Extrusion Děčín. Also, the temperature uniformity of the billets has shown to be excellent. The model is applied to two different billet diameters of 254 mm and 364 mm. At the beginning of the process, the billets are at ambient temperature or due to a prior heating have temperatures between 300 °C and 450 °C.
